Why our planner

Not just another AI wrapper

We've spent years building a structured Sri Lanka travel database the AI uses for grounded answers.

Built by Sri Lankans who travel here

Not a generic AI wrapper. Our team has driven the routes, climbed Sigiriya at 7am, and waited for the Kandy-Ella train.

Powered by Google Gemini 2.5

We use Gemini Flash for speed with 2.5 Pro fallback for complex 14-day trips. Same AI that powers Google Search and Maps.

Real Sri Lanka data, not hallucinations

Our AI references 7 specialized catalogs — places, routes, costs, weather, cultural notes — so it doesn't invent restaurants that don't exist.

No signup, no spam, no upsell

Free for travelers. We don't sell your data, run pop-ups, or push affiliate hotels. Costs go through Google Gemini API which we pay for.

Real Sri Lanka data

7 specialized catalogs feed the AI

When you ask the planner for a 7-day itinerary, the AI doesn't guess. It references our hand-curated database of Sri Lankan travel knowledge — so it doesn't invent restaurants, route you through monsoon rain, or quote 2018 prices.

Places

150+ destinations with descriptions, opening hours and best-time-to-visit windows

Routes

Realistic drive times between cities, accounting for road conditions and traffic

Costs

Hotel, food, transport and activity prices updated quarterly for 2026

Seasonal Notes

Two-monsoon weather logic — which coast is dry when

Cultural Notes

Festival dates, dress codes for temples, local etiquette

Transport Ops

Train booking windows, tuk-tuk fare ranges, airport taxi standards

Rules

Pacing, group-size logic, budget-tier matching — what makes a plan feel right

Frequently asked

Common planner questions

Everything you need to know before generating your first plan.

Is the AI trip planner free?

Yes — completely free, no signup required. We cap free generations to 50 per IP per day to keep the AI fast and prevent abuse. Most travelers only need 1–3 generations to refine their plan.

How accurate are the cost estimates?

Costs are based on 2026 pricing data we've collected from local hotels, transport operators, restaurants and attractions across Sri Lanka. Expect ±10% accuracy for budget and mid-range travel. Luxury plans have wider variance because high-end villa prices fluctuate. We update the cost catalog every quarter.

How long does it take to generate a plan?

Usually 8–15 seconds. The AI runs on Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash, generating your full day-by-day itinerary, costs, and tips in one go. Slow internet or a complex 14-day trip may take up to 30 seconds.

Can I edit the itinerary after it's generated?

Yes. After generation, you can hit 'Regenerate' with adjusted preferences, or copy the plan to a doc and edit freely. We don't lock you into the generated plan — it's a starting point, not a contract.

Can I save or share my plan?

Yes — every generated plan gets a unique shareable URL. Send it to your travel partner, save it as a bookmark, or paste it into your trip notes. Plans persist on the URL indefinitely.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT?

Three differences: (1) we feed the AI a curated database of Sri Lankan places, routes, opening hours, seasonal weather and cost benchmarks, so it doesn't hallucinate non-existent restaurants. (2) The output is structured (consistent day-by-day format, real costs in your currency). (3) It's specialized for Sri Lanka — no generic 'eat local food' advice.

Does it work for solo travelers, couples, families and groups?

Yes — the planner asks for your group size and adjusts accommodation type, transport (sedan/van/minibus), meal recommendations and pace accordingly. Family-friendly itineraries skip overly long drives and include kid-friendly stops.

What if I want to focus on a specific interest — surf, wildlife, food?

The Step 1 form lets you pick interests (beaches, hiking, wildlife, food, culture, etc.) — the AI weights them in your itinerary. If you pick 'wildlife', expect more national parks (Yala, Wilpattu, Udawalawe) and fewer beach days.

Can it plan around the weather?

Yes — Sri Lanka has two monsoons hitting different coasts. The planner uses your travel month to weight regions: Dec–Mar → south + west coast, May–Sep → east + north coast. It avoids sending you to rained-out regions.

Do you store my data?

We store your generated plan against an anonymous request ID for 30 days so the share link works. We don't ask for your email, phone, or name. We don't sell data, run ads on this page, or track you across sites.
