Ancient temple of tooth in Anuradhapura. This is one of the earliest shrines for the sacred tooth relic. The tooth relic became the symbol of royals in the ancient Sri Lanka so the location of the tooth relic shifted with the shift of kingdoms after the anuradhapura kingdom. However the shrines remained abandoned.
