Nayaru Raja Maha Viharaya is an old buddhist shrine/temple(dated back to 2000 years) and which is archaeological Site which belongs to Department of Archaeology land of 3 Acres. In 2008 SL Army rebuilt the temple which was destructed in the past decades.
