About Nalanda Dam & Reservoir
Nalanda Dam is the first concrete dam in Sri Lanka constructed in the last lap of the colonial era. Nalanda reservoir is located in the Naula DS division in Matale in Central Province. Bowatenna reservoir and Nalanada gedige are located in the same area of Nalanda reservoir. Nalanda reservoir is managed by irrigation Department of Sri Lanka.
